Trip to the offshore stations off the Dutch coast in 1973

I arrived in the great Dutch seaside resort of Schevenigen on a very wet 27th July 1973, geared up for a trip the next day to the offshore radio ships Mebo II, Norderney, and Mi Amigo organised by the FRO-FRC-Holland. I remember enjoying the fantastic reception of RNI, Veronica, and Seagull, even though just about everything went wrong with my efforts to record these stations. Even on the trip itself, the antenna on my portable unbelievably snapped off (!!!) and my recording of RNI on FM is only good for the time I was right up close to their ship, the Mebo II. The trip itself had been delayed, and it was quite late in the day before we actually got the see the ships. The light was fading fast, which partially explains the poor quality of the photos here.
